About the event

Have you been on a BioBlitz before? Would you like to learn more about community science and why it all matters? Would you like to learn more about iNaturalist? Why should we collect all this data? What kind of studies use iNaturalist? If you would like to get more involved, join us for part 1 of this new series of naturalist presentations.

During the first presentation we will provide background about community science, discuss a few current programs in the Bay Area, and how you can be part of this movement. We will explain what iNaturalist is and how we use it at our BioBlitz events. The essence of the presentation is the why - why should you use the app, if you aren't doing so already, and how can you improve your experience, if you're already a user. We will provide examples of scientific studies using iNaturalist data in order to learn about our environment.

On our next meeting, on 8/23/2023, we will dive deeper into iNaturalist, exploring advanced features.
