Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz 2023

Join BioBlitz Club and the City of Santa Clara for a pollinator-focused BioBlitz event at the Eddie Souza Community Garden. We will document pollinators and pests at the community garden, and at the nearby park. This event is part of the California Biodiversity Day event.

Parks & Recreation Department is hosting two BioBlitz events in September at Everett N. Eddie Souza Park (2380 Monroe Street) as part of the national Parks for Pollinators campaign, which is aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of pollinators.

What is a BioBlitz? Organized by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), the Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz is an event where community members work with park staff to create a snapshot of the variety of wildlife that can be found at Eddie Souza Park for the entire month of September.

To participate, download the mobile app called iNaturalist to take pictures of plants, insects and animals to see what wildlife is present in the park and community garden and provide us with more information about pollinators, which are essential to our ecosystem.
