About the event
This will be our 3rd event this fall/ winter in Coyote Valley, and our first event at this special place! During the event we will explore the area in small groups and document its biodiversity using the smartphone app iNaturalist. Our docents will guide you and show you how to find plants, insects, animal tracks, and much more!
Coyote Valley is located between San Jose and Morgan Hill. It is an important wildlife corridor, connecting the Santa Cruz Mountain Range and the Diablo Range, allowing some animal movement between them, which is crucial for the survival of their populations. A few sections of Coyote Valley were protected in the past few years, in a joint effort by government agencies, non-profit organizations, and the City of San Jose. Spreckels Hill is usually closed to the public, so this is a great opportunity to visit the area and collect data about it…
