About the event

Since 1993, twice a year we survey 250 points across Jasper Ridge, documenting the Argentine ant invation into the preserve. This year we have decided to split the training into two meetings - an online presentation and an in-person walk.

In this first meeting, we will teach you how to identify the most common Bay Area ants and talk about the survey routines, via an online presentation (9/9).

During the 2nd meeting we will go for a 2 hour ant walk in Jasper Ridge and improve our ant identification abilities. We've got two dates to choose from for the walk - on Sunday 9/12 and Wednesday 9/15 from 5:30.

On 9/18 from 8:00-12:30 we will conduct the actual ant survey.

Please only sign up if you can watch the presentation (either live or a recording), one of the walks (9/12 or 9/15), and the actual survey.

Stanford University policy requires all volunteers to either be fully vaccinated or show a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of coming on-site.
