About the event
Since 1993, twice a year we survey 250 points across Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, documenting the Argentine ant invasion into the preserve. In this 1st session, we will teach you how to identify the most common Bay Area ants in the lab and in the field, talk about the survey routines, and go for a walk at the beautiful preserve. Join us to support one of the longest running studies in invasive species ecology!
For background about Bay Area ants you can view this webinar, and for a Covid version of the Jasper Ridge ant training view this webinar.
On 5/10 from around 8:30-12:30 we will conduct the actual ant survey itself.
