Help us document the Argentine ant invasion into Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve! In the first part, we will teach you how to ID local ants, and in the second part (9/25) we will survey the preserve in small groups
Since 1993, twice a year we survey 250 points across Jasper Ridge, documenting the Argentine ant invation into the preserve. In this first meeting, we will teach you how to identify the most common Bay Area ants and talk about the survey routines. Then we'll go for a 2 hour ant walk in Jasper Ridge and improve our ant identification abilities.
On 9/25 from 8:00-12:30 we will conduct the actual ant survey.
